Laptop Troubleshooting: Screen light fails




When the laptop comes on and the screen light goes off but the image is very dark, or faint, most likely it's either failed screen inverter or backlight lamp (CCFL) failure. When either one fail, the backlight stops working.

You'll need extra spare parts to work on this. You may need a new working inverter or known good backlight lamp.
