Laptop falls into water: What to do

It can happen that your laptop falls into water just as your phone can fall into water at any point. These things happen. You don't have to panic. At most times, the damage may be very minimal, as the water may not have actually penetrated the core of the laptop.

In most cases, you may just need to unscrew the parts and put them in the sun to dry up. If they are not dried up properly, that can mean problem. And if some parts are affected by dust or scum, you may need to wash those with alcohol.

If you don't have the ability to wash the parts carefully, just send it to the repairer. That should do it. Read more here.

However, in case there's no trace of dirt or scum, just make sure that the laptop is dry enough, then re-boot.
