The first thing you can do is to remove the RAM from its slot and clean it, then fix it back there carefully.  When fixing it back, you may try another slot. Don't forget that a bad RAM can also cause your laptop to fail to display. If you have two RAM, remove them, place only one RAM and check the display. If you fail to get any display, change the slot. If the problem persists, try connecting an external monitor to your laptop. Just look for the VGA connector on your laptop. Connect it to the external monitor, then switch on your laptop.

You could be using your laptop now on the internet and when the internet router goes off, probably because there isn't electricity, you then try to reconnect when the light comes on. You can see the that the wireless connection is showing on your laptop but you can no longer connect to it. Probably, what you just need to do is go back to the desktop, where you have the icons, try to refresh the Windows several times then try to reconnect. 

I don't think many people do it but I enjoy connecting my laptop to my television through HDMI. My laptop enables me to watch and listen to content through the TV. For some reasons, the sound plays through my laptop and I can get my TV to display everything I want through my laptop. But sometimes sounds don't play through my laptop and I wonder what to do because if I go to the control panel on my laptop I can see the option of sounds from my TV but it doesn't work if I try to enable sounds from it. The main problem is I see the arrow pointing next to my TV icon and saying 'Not plugged in'. It wouldn't let me set it as default or configure.  What could be wrong?
